Make it a summer to remember at the MAC Summer Club. You’ll enjoy the 6 lane lap pool and dive well along with an expansive deck, sand volleyball, MAC Snack Shack and more. With MAC Summer Camps, Swim Team, Swim Lessons and fun events all year, the MAC is the perfect family meeting place!

The MAC Summer Club reserves the first part of the season for members only. 

  • Members (16+ older) may bring guests for $15 per person per visit after June 7th. 
  • Guests can up to 3 times per summer alongside of a member. Anyone 1 year old and over should have a guest pass and those under 18 must come with a signed guest wavier from their legal guardian. You may download, print and sign in advance here. Please check the weather forecast and event page before arriving, there are no refunds on guest passes. 

Members are invited to bring their own food and drinks if they choose. We also have a Snack Shack filled with drinks, ice cream, and delicious snacks as well. Glass and alcohol are prohibited. Members must be 13 years old to be at the club without supervision (management reserves the right to revoke this privilege if the child’s behavior does not comply). You must be 15 years of age to watch others. Please see staff to make sure your raft is approved. For safety reasons, large or rafts that are not difficult to see under are not permitted.

Lifeguard Job Description

Under the supervision of the Aquatic Director, Lifeguards are expected to maintain safe swimming conditions in the pool, on deck, and in the surrounding areas, as well as create a safe and positive atmosphere that promotes member safety and engagement in accordance with The MAC policies and procedures.

Qualifications

· Must be at least 15 years of age

· Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate

· Certifications Required – CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, and Basic First Aid

· Ability to maintain certification – level of physical and mental readiness

· Must demonstrate lifeguard skills in accordance with The MAC standards

Essential Functions

· Maintains active surveillance of the pool

· Knows and reviews all emergency procedures and responds to emergency situations immediately in accordance with The MAC policies and procedures

· Completes related reports as required

· Maintains effective, positive relationships with the members, participants and staff

· Knows, understands, and consistently applies safety rules, policies and guidelines for the pool

· Maintain accurate records as required by The MAC and/or the State Health Department code

· Performs equipment checks and ensures appropriate equipment is available as needed

· Checks the pool for hazardous conditions upon arrival

· Performs chemical testing when not guarding, as required, and takes appropriate action

· Attends all staff meetings and in-service trainings

· Must be able to provide swim lessons as a certified MAC instructor for all ages

  • The MAC Summer Club is looking for seasonal staff for this upcoming Summer Season. All positions must be able to work 2 of the 3 holidays (Memorial Day, 4th of July & Labor Day) and must be available for the majority of the season through Labor Day. Part-time and full-time positions available.

The Camp Counselor is responsible for planning, leading, and implementing core and non-core programs and experiences for children in a small group setting. They will also be responsible for the general safety and development, growth, and skill achievement of the participants in his/her group. The incumbent will provide high quality outdoor educational and recreational experiences for participants that focus on The MAC core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Help write and implement a weekly schedule for your camp group.
  • Organize and lead a variety of small and large group activities each week. Activities may include crafts, nature, songs, games, swimming, archery, Family Night, etc.
  • Identify and respond to camper behavior issues.
  • Ensure that the site is kept clean, organized, and free of litter.
  • Communicate with parents about participant’s experiences and report concerns to Camp Leadership.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate program records including incident reports, logbook documentation, and daily attendance.
  • Know and understand ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program.
  • Know, enforce, and follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas. This includes but is not limited to being responsible for your campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
  • Help guide Junior Counselors and Camp Volunteers to have a deeper understanding of leadership and counseling skills.
  • If applicable, maintain constant surveillance of the pool area/body of water, know/review all emergency procedures and respond to emergency situations immediately. Attend monthly in-service trainings.
